“ On this third straight cool, rainy day, I headed here for some comfort food, Mexican style - Birria de Res, a dish I've had here several times before. This stew is the basis for the Quesabirria Tacos. Beef, often chuck roast, is slow cooked in a sauce spiced by dry red chiles and various spices. The meat is shredded and the broth is ladled on. This stew is topped with chopped white onion and cilantro. I add some lime juice and often will add sliced jalapeños and sometimes even grilled onions as well. Since the stew comes with tortillas, I often make my own tacos. The stew was excellent, though the portion was considerably smaller than what I had been served previously - not too happy with that! ”

“ This location is close to where we live, so we eat there frequently. The service is always excellent even when busy. The food is consistently good and is always served quickly. The prices are beyond reasonable as well. Outstanding all around. ”

“ We had the Burrito California, Quesabirria, and guacamole appetizer. Chips and salsa: the chips and salsa were better than average. They brought the chips out warm which I like. Guacamole: The presentation wasn't anything spectacular so I was skeptical but the taste was really good. Quesabirria: this was very good there was a hint of a sweet flavor that I could have done without but overall good. Burrito California: I ordered the steak burrito and this was phenomenal. I have lived in both Texas and Arizona and I believe this may be the best burrito that I have ever had. The portion is very large but the steak was perfect. I give a 10/10. The portions were large, the food was good, and the service was very quick. I will be back for sure. ”

“ Stopped for lunch with my husband on our way through the area. Excellent food and Micheladas! My carnita torta was delicious. Great service and the staff was so friendly! ”

“ We wanted to grab something to eat that was close and convenient. We had heard good things about Monte De Ray as well so off we went. We arrived about 3pm and it appeared busier than we would have expected. We were seated right away in a booth near the front, immediately provided menus and offered drinks. As we walked in, it appears they occupy three or more units with frontage in this strip mall because we saw at least two entrance doors not in use. We began to peruse the menu which is huge. We each looked for items we normally get at Mexican restaurants. We were provided chips and salsa and had to ask our server to give us more time to look at the menu. The salsa was not extremely chunky which is what I prefer and it had a very nice flavor. When our server returned, my wife chose the shrimp fajitas with a side of guacamole and I chose the Chili Colorado with double rice and no beans. Our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked great, the fajitas were sizzling and my wife thought the chunky guacamole looked great. We each enjoyed our meals but the service was just okay, it felt like we had to seek out our server. Overall it was a decent experience but nothing blew our socks off. ”
